Services Offered
Consultation
Call, text or contact me here to have a conversation about your concerns or to answer questions you may have about the speech/language therapy process.
Screening
Screenings are quick, informal assessments (max 30 min) for potential speech/language concerns. They help determine if a full evaluation is necessary.
Evaluations are an essential step in the therapeutic process. At Chatter Matters, I utilize a comprehensive approach that combines parent interviews, detailed observations, standardized assessments, and language samples to assess whether speech, language, or communication therapy would benefit your child. This thorough evaluation also helps identify the specific areas to focus on during therapy. A detailed written report will be provided to outline the findings and recommendations.
At Chatter Matters, therapy is tailored to fit each child's needs. Sessions are usually built around fun activities like play, crafts, or games that keep your child engaged. I also include activities to work on specific goals and track progress, along with time for family education, questions, and tips that parents can use at home to help their child.
"Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning." - Mr. Rogers
Where?
Therapy is flexible and set up to best meet the needs and goals of each child. Primarily therapy will occur at my office, aka The Chatterbox. However, I may also offer home visits, outdoor meet ups or services in other locations based on need and availability.
When?
We will work together to decide what is right for your family. Sessions will most likely occur 1-3 times per week. However, individual child needs, family involvement and other factors are always considered when scheduling.
Payment
Please note I am a private pay practice, which means I don't bill insurance directly. This allows me to provide the highest level of personalized care, protect your child's privacy, and offer flexible scheduling options. I can provide you with a detailed fee schedule, and many families find that they are able to use out-of-network benefits or health savings accounts to help cover the costs.
